We are delighted to announce the Desert Barbell Classic will feature at Dubai Muscle Show.
What is it?
The very first Desert Barbell Classic is scheduled to take place 15 & 16 January 2021 on the backdrop of Dubai Muscle Show. An invitation only event, the Classic is a natural progression of the Power Meet event series giving the top athletes something bigger to work towards.
How does it all work?
The top 15 men and top 15 women from the current Power Meet event series will receive a special invitation to come back to the Classic to compete for the title of best of the best. The event follows Classic IPF rules and is supported and officiated by the UAE Bodybuilding Federation. In the spirit of fair play, the Classic is a drug tested competition.
Lifters are ranked on wilks points and the winners will be determined by wilks score so weight classes will not matter. It is winner takes all with monetary and non-monetary prizes up for grabs. View the current rankings to learn more and see who is in the running to qualify.
The Power Meet 8 will take place on 16 & 17 October 2020 at Desert Barbell Sports Club so be prepared for a shake up in the rankings!
The Twist
There will be 3 wildcard invitations for each the men’s and women’s categories who will come and display their strength and compete with the other athletes. Stay tuned to our social media for further announcements.
